Holiday Festivals in Bucks, Montgomery, and Philadelphia Counties
The holiday season is upon us and that means endless hot apple cider and latkes, countless light shows, and more! No matter what holiday’s you celebrate, there are celebrations out there for you. I thought it would be good to round up a few here, along with resources on where to find more. Here are a few of the holiday festivals in Bucks, Montgomery, and Philadelphia Counties!
Bucks County Holiday Festivals
- Gingerbread Competition and Display at Peddler’s Village: “A holiday tradition at Peddler’s Village since 1984, the Gingerbread Competition and Display is a feast for the eyes with more than 75 creative and whimsical entries in these categories: Traditional Holiday Gingerbread House, Holly Jolly, Authentic Reproduction of a Bucks County Landmark and more!” Ongoing now through January 13th.
- Menorah Lighting and Great Chanukah Gelt Drop: Chabad Lubavitch of Doylestown is putting this event on. “Watch chocolate coins and dreidel parachutes drop from up high and catch what you can.” Donuts and latkes and a bubble show available. Location: The Shops at Valley Square, 1501 N. Main Street, Warrington, PA. RSVP: jewishdoylestown.com/geltdrop Thursday, December 7th at 5:30 p.m.
Montgomery County Holiday Festivals
- Menorah Lighting at Suburban Square: “Join the community at Suburban Square as we come together to celebrate the eight days of Hanukkah. We’ll begin the Festival of Lights with the traditional lighting of the menorah on the Lawn. Stop by at sundown on December 7th to enjoy the festivities.” Location: Suburban Square Shopping Center, Ardmore, PA. Sundown on December 7th.
- ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas Train: “These special evening trains bring the storybook magic of the season to life Join us in your pajamas and sip complimentary hot cocoa as we read ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.” Location: Colebrookdale Railroad, Boyertown, PA. Starting November 24th.
Philadelphia County Holiday Festivals
- Winter at Dilworth Park: “When the temperatures dip and the nights get long, Dilworth Park transforms into a luminous winter wonderland. Located in the heart of Center City, this must-visit seasonal tradition includes special wintry attractions and a cornucopia of free holiday events. This season, look forward to an open-air ice skating rink, a verdant Wintergarden, a holiday market, chalet-style cabins and firepits, and pay-as-you-go seasonal snacks and beverages.” Now through February 25, 2024.
- Hanukkah Celebration with Old City Jewish Arts Center: ” In partnership with Old City Jewish Arts Center, celebrate Hanukkah with a traditional menorah lighting ceremony from 4-5pm. Festivities will include holiday favorites like latkes and jelly donuts. Children can take home a menorah and some Hanukkah gelt while supplies last. Then, head over to Winter in Franklin Square to continue the celebration!” Location: Betsy Ross House, 239 Arch Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106 December 10th.
